high school

by Beth K Hannah

hallways filled with anti hate
Filled with confusion
Half bred thoughts
Twisting to form some half assed
Imitation of themselves.

Oh to see the glitter
The punk
The never dying Madonnas
Who STILL think Jesus loves them
Tyler disagrees
I try not to giggle

It hits me again at lunch
As the prom queen laments
Her lack of sanity bemuses me
Oh the horror of breaking a nail!

Sometimes all I get to Is this locker
This gray hermit
And I feel the insults
The hatred
And the circle dies

If I was to run
See a glimpse of some utopia
Some unfounded glory
Some perchance accident
Untouched by humanity and faith
I would leave it all

Author's Note: I really dislike high school and it's materialism. It limits me so much. If these are suppose to be the best 4 years of my life, I am doomed.

Do you realize that it would take the better part of our class working together to form a half way intelegent thought?
