For Michelle

by Adrian Calhoun

Sometimes she loves me,
sometimes I let her,
most of the time I shut her out.

It is very hard to explain really.
I get caught up in everyday things,
and don't take time to spend with her.
Usually my inner child wins,
and I am off on a whim.

I love her more than life itself,
she truly is my better half.
Before I married her
I didn't even have a good side.

She has brought out the best in me,
and that's what scares me.
For so long I was a stone,
worked hard at being tough,
had a reputation for being mean.

All I had built myself into,
was gone with one look in her eyes.
She deserves better, more.
I wish I was the husband of her dreams.

Don't blame her,
I am a very hard man to love,
but she does.

Author's Note: For my wife Michelle. I love you so much. Sometimes I am just an idiot.

Thank you for a closer look into how many of us are in our relationships, and for pointing out, that even tough it may not seem/feel like it at the time, we still hold that lvoe, although sometimes it is deep within and kept hidden

Ah, I see...so Michelle is the reason I like you so much then. LOL Good stuff, you DID show this to her, right? ;)
