this ugly blueish thing
triumphs on my desk.
so out of place with the world around
yet it has dominated the rest.
everything around it has changed
evolved and grown-
yet this molded plastic casing
containing my computer still stands alone.

it's chip is outdated.
it's ram is a piddling amount
the speakers are old and chintsy
the monitor is about to give out.

by our standards, this thing is eons old.
but, it is oblivious to time at all-
it still think it's state of the art
when it couldnt even pass for modern art.

yet i do love it so,
it's my window to a universe
and thus, i will not let go-

me and my machine
are sadly inseprable.
