SUBLIMINALMESSAGING (prev. Phew!...)

by Trisha De Gracia

Can you hear the sound of constant chattering and nattering ?
it is us
as we run our maze
looking for the cheese that we all need a bigger piece of
because some is never enough for us, is it?

Breathe in
breathe out
and you will taste the poison in the air
/ this is our creation/ our baby/ our spawn /

taste it ?

good
you should
you put it there
by means of chemical warefare and plastic in the campfire
.

Can you feel the pride all around you (?)
as we wave our flags high above our heads
(and spear the doves that were passing by)
?
Too much of a good thing makes us sicker than a little of the bad

don't you think ? (((DON'T you think?)))

And soon we'll all be automated
in that we will shut up and do what we are told .
Who needs a mind when you can follow someone elses ?
We are playing follow the leader
/ well, the leader being the person with the most money or the biggest weapons /
because it's so much easier to follow instructions than to

**use your morals .

remember 8th grade social studies when they taught you about those times when

**everyone was ruled

by one or two leaders
and the commoners had barely enough of anything to survive on
and had to pay most of it to the

**people at the top ?

The times where those savage rulers used whatever means they could and
killed whenever necessary just to gain more

FOR THEMSELVES.

Good thing that's all in the past hey ?

wow, waving the flags and spearing the doves, that is truly excellent. kind of sums up the whole attitude of the poem, in a way.
