excessive times a long time ago
those were the days at the throat
and simultaneously
in the heart
of eachother.
those days, were excuses.
to run, to hide from these
truths.
every reason we could concoct
to make this seem as if
not meant to be-
we'd take it without a blink.

its been a time for a while
where the animosity has faded away
but love endures
cause the love is ours today.
and allthough it may never be how
we always had dreamed it would be
i still mean something special to you
and you more special to me.
