earthquake of distress

by Michele Schottelkorb

my insides have been hit with an earthquake
thoughts of my love make my lungs shake
fear and disbelief
(you know about this thief)
can it happen again? shall my heart break?

please don't ever go there again
this demon, it isn't your friend
anger and sadness
(do you remember the madness?)
comfortably numb, that's the end

please don't leave those that love you
our hearts are breaking right in two
depression and guilt
(you'll lose all that you've built)
oh god, what are we going to do?

please heed this plea and calling
if you can't or won't, you'll be falling
shiver and shake
(keep going and you'll break)
the ghosts of your past, they are brawling

i'm so scared, dear love of my life
filled with pain and sorrow and strife
anxiety and love
(remember thoughts of your dove)
don't desert your true love... it's your wife

Author's Note: please note, this is not about another woman... the trials of our former lives affecting our present ones seem to be unending... perhaps through knowledge, however, we shall see the end of the rainbow...

it would be a sad day, if that should come to pass, that one could bid you, the love of their life, good day or worse, good bye. don't know why you say goodbye, but I say hello, hello hello. hello bright eyes.
