The Persuasive Touch

by Rhodora M Fitzgerald

Only delicate, merciful hands
with tender, compassionate fingers
can reach
into an unsuspecting soul,
and penetrate skin
as if it were only water,
coaxing the heart
from it's protective sheath.

So true. Wonderfully worded. Warm and fuzzy.

The key word is "coaxing." I like the tenderness in your poem. It is a good balance to those hands that rip into the heart. Good poem.
