my soul dipped in preservatives

by Cymbre Dolphay

looking for the cranberry sauce
in an overly stocked pantry
x-ray vision would have
so many household uses

it's like I'm searching for the soul
I placed in a can
in another time and place
and I can't recall where it rests

I really like the way the poem/poet finds spiritual meaning in the everyday. I relate to the overstocked pantry AND not being able to recall where the soul rests. Beautiful. I like this one.
