Red Horizon by Julie Adams
somewhere between
wallflower
and
panther
slight in movement
if any, covert
eyes dart
back
and
forth
but I rest, waiting
motionless
between stalks
and reeds, streams
of dreams ebb
and
flow
curiosity into
creativity
protagonist
silent
but
deadly type,
3rd millennium woman
hunter, prowling
sans weaponry, noise
fangs sink in
to new book
feeding again
through daybreak
red horizon
bleeding from the eyes

Posted by JD Clay on 02/22/03 at 05:26 PM Wow! Drop me a rope. I think you have reached the pinnacle with this one, Jewels. Superb first and last lines. (The middle ain't too shabby either).
Peace... |
Posted by Ken Harnisch on 02/23/03 at 05:33 PM ah, the soul of the intellectual predator so beautifully bared ...amazing how you captured the photograph in all its clariy, detail and vivid color, Jewels. |
