Asbestos Blonde

by Paul Little

She could walk into a room
And catch the attention of all
Eyes turning to face her presence
Creating flames of passion and desire
That never seems to touch her.
It’s not so much a heart of stone
As the fact that she’s an asbestos blonde.

Immune to all the attention
The rumours soon begin to spread
Scathing attacks on her looks and demeanour.
They try to rip her to shreds
But she just pulls closer together
No one knows when you first meet her
That she is an asbestos blonde.

Every man wants to be with her
Just to see if he can destroy
That re-enforced public image
And yet those that tried
Were not even close.
All the girls hate her
After all she’s such a bitch
And yet they would kill to be like her
To be an asbestos blonde.
