Pushed Into by Lacy D Phillips
Fucking cunt!
It was more a discovery
than a declaration.
Vile breakthrough!
Kamikaze insult.
Burnt words,
like soot
on the roof
of my mouth.
I try to spit them out.
Coughing, retching,
choking on them.
I manage a weak retort
and slam the door
with a vengeance.
Leaving may not have been the easy thing,
but it was the best way to well again.
I hadnt many options then,
and the least of them was absence.
So I went.
A subtle offer,
innuendo on allusion,
led me to another bed.
And you were through with me
for the time being,
so what is lost
was far from innocence?
