Dilemna

by Ginette T Belle

This is how it happened to be
Glissading into drowning aphrodisia
Falling ethereally into your lucid head
I thought I was inviolable and loved
That you could crawl inside me
And pick apart the perplexity and timorousness
That lies beneath my skin

But who can see for being enchanted by sophism
Dazzled by the spectacle dancing before glazed eyes
I am in awe at the carelessness of your subconscious
Too perfect to see beyond the white picket fence
Cauterized feelings directed at my soul
As you slip into numbness

You were this image of beauty
Bewitching the very core of my being
Stroking my utopia which I believed was out to sea
Floating on a battered raft ready to relinquish life
Oh, and I'm hoping I outlive this

Intriguing and evocative Ginette. Well worth another read soon.
