By The Door

by Quinlan L Gibson

I don’t need it,
anymore.
You can leave it,
by the door.
Pick it up,
on your way out.
Carry it,
on your mind.

I’m so confused
What to believe
What I hear?
Or what I see?

What I feel?
What I sense?
Gut instinct?
Experience?

So I don’t need it,
anymore.
Let’s just leave it,
by the door…
and go to sleep
I love you.

Author's Note: in the exhaustion of not knowing where I stand in my 2 year and 4 month relationship, i don't need to know anymore.

Relationship uncertainty aptly expressed, Quinlan. Nice to see you on the score board again. Welcome back.
