Rains and Reigns

by Adrian Calhoun

Working in the outdoors,
the noon sun burns hot.
It's rays rain down on me.

A storm is slowly moving in,
in the distance, thunder rumbling.
The afternoon sun is swallowed into darkness,
and it begins to rain down on me.

Troubles and worries of everyday life,
weighing on me like stone.
I feel the love and blessings of the Son,
and the stone melts away,
as he reigns over me.

the best "reign"...you have everything just perfect here...your poem with only 12 lines says so very much!

Subtle and effective change of analogies. Clever use of the homophone. Very excellent message!
