Tied to the wheels of death.

by Ashok Sharda

Tied to the wheels of death

I keep on moving

Round and round

Commencing my journey from X time

Terminating it at Y

Returning back to X

Umpteen times

Multiplied by umpteen times.

Is there a way out?

If X and Y are simultaneous

Ever present.

Chronologically

For the sake of documentation

I was born in the X time

I died in the Y.

As are well all sir. Worthy poetics from A to Z or should I say X to Y.

I thoroughly enjoyed this timeless piece Ashok. Especially the metaphoric use of the wheel and its cyclical connotation. Peace...

X, Y and...umpteen? - the value at which philosophy and math diverge? Good to be reminded that 'life' and 'death' are not synonymous with 'beginning' and 'end', unless one is feeling particularly egocentric :o]

*Is there a way out?* I don't think there's any escaping the cycle of death and rebirth...not the first time nor the 'upteenth time,' *Tied to the wheels of death I keep on moving Round and round* Yes, it's a cycle that we feel we have to name or document, as you said, though X & Y are relative in time. Why do we see their existance as plots - specific beginning and ending points on the axis of life when they are truly ever existing? This reminds me of another of your poems, The unknown can’t be verbalized...nor can any other cycle of nature be truly and accurately defined by our percieved meaning of X and Y. Hmmm...hope I'm making sense here :-)
