Lacking Polish

by Glenn Currier

my public mistakes in a heap

like wearing jeans and not slacks
to meetings that put me to sleep

they say privately: see how he acts

instead of how angry I am

I say that I'm really pissed off

and then not giving a damn

I don't nicely cover my cough

in meetings with all of the bosses

my questions turn them all red

then trying to cut my losses--

that's not really what I said

one friend said you sure do lack tone

another remarked I was crude

the others just sigh or groan
and then I know that I'm screwed

it's true I occasionally lack

the polish instead of the fart

but under the tarnish and plaque

is a guy with really big heart

rather someone with attitude than a follower without an own opinion...but sometimes it's risky, it did cost me my job..;but at least I walked out head up high

Its the acquired personality which plays the role, as the situation demands. And well, role playing is what is recognized as civil behavior in this common belief system. They recognize you even when you play a role of not playing a role.ha! ha! Its difficult for those who act and react to the command of their essence.

a fireplace of a poem of the day, that warms me with its poetic "big heart"h... I just had to come back and say so... on my mind since then. Love your rebellious tone of forthright heartfulness.

I can attest to the fact that you have a really big heart, Uncle Glenn, and it's a great to be able to make the boss red-faced, from time to time.
