I hate this letter to you

by Emily G Myers

my tongue tastes like the glue
from the letter I'm sending you

I hate this letter to you
because it gets to be with you
you'll take it out of the mailbox so carefully
open it with your fingers...
the fingers you used to touch me
now you caress only paper
and I hate this letter to you
because you'll hold it
look at it attentively
like you used to look at me
read the words I've written
with the eyes you used to read
the shape of my skin
the softest brown eyes I've ever seen
ever loved
the kindest
and most expressive
with those long eyelashes
so many people mention
I hate this letter to you
it'll see every part of you
be in your presence
be in your hands
it'll be where I want to be
I hate this letter to you

my lonely tongue tastes like glue
from this lucky letter I'm sending you

Nice work! Quite original in how you express your loss, desire, angst through the letter.

Now there is an innovative concept on the jealosy factor. Very creative, Emily. Congratulations on becoming Poet Of The Day. Peace...

Clever, a bit tongue-in-cheek I think, a strong sense of regret expressed. Congratulations on POTD!
