Smuttered Love by Anne EngelenIts an art to live life
without any expectations
Its human to build up hopes so high
Disappointments, the reminders of lifes lessons
are too often reasons to make one cry
My world collapsed when a brutal wind
blew down my card house of dreams
taking my love on its swift wings
Creating turbulent waves
on my pond of peaceful existence
I ran like crazy to catch my love
which like a hat caught by this stormy wind
started the wildest flight
I caught it, but lost grip again
Saw my love roll over broken up streets
and through pebbles of desperate shed tears
Finally,
even the wind got tired
of this useless game
I picked up love
all smuttered and wet
It never was the same! 01/13/2003 Author's Note: Inspired by JD's "Fidelity"
