Sweeter

by Amanda Conlogue

White chocolate mousse melts
On my tongue, already
Half melted by the humid sun
Setting, a kaleidoscope of color
Smoldering across the sky

If I light a match
Toss it up as an offering
The sky will catch fire
Like jets that blaze
Leaving trails of white vapor

The breeze blowing through
The window whispers to
My hair, kisses my cheek
A tickling caress

The way your fingers trace
The notches of my spine
And back again, this time
With your mouth and I sigh

Like the breeze, your name
A whispered caress on my lips
And tongue, sweeter
Than melted chocolate

"If I light a match/Toss it up as an offering/The sky will catch fire".. powerful, yet soft words.. excellent..
