RELENTLESS

by Melissa Arel

Morning, evening and night

You have heard the prayers

Of relentless pursuit

From a relentless people

We’re barely believing

As our spirits cling to the dust

Looking for something beautiful

At the eleventh hour

Words are stolen away

With this breath-taking moment -

As You awaken the hope

That slumbers in our souls

Midnight is closing in..

And Love is breathing

Like a tree on fire, consuming violent and tender life

You have come

I'm speechless. This one obviously comes straight from the heart of God. It is exactly what he is doing in my life too.

You are and have been to me God's best messenger in any arena of poetry i've chanced to find you....you are still doing His work well, Mel...as far as I can see!

I have been reading your poetry, for a very long time, with admiration. Reading this feels like sitting in church listening to a prayer, simply beautiful.
