I don't need a symbol

by Shayla R Cakes

I don't need a ring
For you to tell me how you feel.
I just need to look into your eyes
To know this love is real.
And I don't need a poem
For the entire world to read
But being wrapped up in your arms
Is what I really need.
I don't need a rose
That wilts and fades away
To "represent" our lasting love.
That shall forever stay
I don't need chocolates
To dance upon my lips
I'd rather find me kissing
The ends of your fingertips.
I don't need you to take
The stars away from the sky.
Just whisper that you love me.
Thats all I need to get by.
I have everything I need from you.
That'll do just fine.
Because I fall asleep and wake up knowing
That I'm yours, and you're all mine.
Not a ring in the world, or a rose petal at that
Can truly represent how I feel.
Because I know whenever I look into your eyes
The love we have's so real.

Well, you said it in no uncertain terms.
