one year
just one year
one year has seemed forever.
that was eternity ago
that was the beginning of something new
something i had never known
and i started it with you
i remember the day
i was low, under the flame
i could only pray
that to me, you felt the same
and to my amazement
i was right
perhaps right too much
since then, every night
has been one that you have touched

and now, one month removed
from the bitter separation
that kept us from this day forever
i'm starting to come around
and pretty soon one year
will seem like forever ago.

Author's Note: 11/25/01 was when i started going out with my first gf- we broke up a month ago, and today would have been our one year anniversary.
