Toxin by Andrew S AdamsCellophane clouds light my shadow
as the sun filters through a shrinkwrap sky
toxic chemicals burn through lungs
breathing in melted plastic air
slowly, slowly i start to melt
into the artificial grass
and the droplets of dew
are just droplets of wax
utopia defined
melted to fill our mold
discolored, refined
and slowly remade again.
this is the world we sculpt
call it our own collective heaven
the world- destroyed work of art
on an unparalled medium.
and what is left but us
stuck inside that mold
trapped inside of this
and left to die alone
breathing in the toxins. 11/20/2002 Posted on 11/21/2002 Copyright © 2025 Andrew S Adams
