In the Eye of the Storm Temptation: She Owns Me

by Britt Zimmerman

Temptation, my love
you waltz in and out of my life
unyielding and untamed before me
Brazen and laughing at my plight
Your dark soft hair brushing against my skin
Sending cosmic shivers through my body

Evil seductress
I am but a slave at your feet
wanting nothing more than
to taste...
to tempt
to inhale your vapors
and let sin spread like disease
through my bones

Sour your sweetness
Taint your purity
Lead me away from you
before I am numb
to feeling
to love.

But you refuse to be conquered.
And I refuse to be the keeper of the chains
that lock you to me
that blister your skin
You are my beauty
and I shall always come back for more

Author's Note: I am learning that I am human and weak, and that temptation is seductive and beautiful until you fall for her.

Hmmm...sounds tempting. Do you have her address phone number?!?! Especially like the strength of expression in that closing stanza.

Does she make house calls? Hehe! Well, Britt you have struck a chord with this one and I am bedazzled once again. Very insightful and thought provoking. Peace...
