Celestine Star by Julie Adamsbut a vibration
in the atmosphere
spinning and burning
between the cosmos
atoms within
evolving, flirting
bursting light
in darkness
heat rises
as I rise
beyond the familiar, the lens
into a gaping universe
swing dancing with
molecules absorbing energy
excitement grows
vibrations increase,
evolving
thanks to someone's
late night wish
the light bounces
between us
reflecting down
upon the earth
electrons intertwine
drunk on hydrogen love
fire explodes between us
and we plummet
through the universe
across Earth's night sky
a shooting star
bouncing off the moon
our reflection
skinny dipping
in the ocean's energy pool

Posted by Glenn Currier on 11/11/02 at 05:31 AM Jewels, what a triumph this is. I liked the book but I think your poem is a comet tracking stardust and vibrating humanity. I love the rhythm and flow of your poem, the length of the lines, the gentleness of your word choice, and the Light that it flings into my eyes and heart. |
