Autumn Of My Soul

by Anne Engelen

Losing all the enchanting colours

Turning into grey

Autumn of my soul

Don’t colour my day

Leaving nothing but emptyness

Cold and distress

Autumn of my soul

Please go away

Wonderful poem, as always, but I wonder if "Winter of my soul" might not be more appropriate... with the loss of color and the grey? But still beautiful imagery!

Lovely piece Anne. I can't wait to see what happens next spring. Peace...

Anne, you express well the feelings I was caught in a week or so ago. Your plea for relief is poignant and personal. Thank you for another wonderful poem that touches the heart.

Most appropriate metaphor. Haunting. Feel the poignancy and anxiety. Reminds me of a saying, "Growing old ain't for sissies."
