Invitation To Communication

by Anne Engelen

If you know people well

There’s a lot you can tell

From watching them

act a certain way

Their actions won’t hide

what they really have to say

Bodylanguage is pretty clear

It’s not deceiving

Like the words I sometimes hear

I’m tired of being a decoder

for each of your words

Please be loud and clear

Be straight forward

Mean what you say

We might be able to understand

each other that way

Communication isn’t that bad

But you need to open your mouth

and heart to accomplish that

So....this being said

Tell me what do you think of that?

Anne, you nail an aspect of communication that both sends my soaring soal and shows my shadow and shades of gray. I see myself as honest and kind, but my frown and the downward arching creases astride my lips reveal another-just-as-true me. Thought-provoking poem and a needed invitation.

I like this because it really says a lot. This reminds me of how a person portrays communication on the internet compared to communication in person when they stand right in front of you. Nice job! :)
