Take Me Back To Used To Be

by Britt Zimmerman

I am getting used to hearing the sound of my breath
You’ve been gone for just so long
And though livin without you feels so close to death
Somehow I just keep moving on

And Its been so lonely without you around
watchin time just tickin away
I can feel you slippin see me losin ground
man it seems like just yesterday

I remember how you moved along my skin
and your slow grind on my hips
How good it felt to bring you in
and the sweet taste of your lips

Sometimes I dream that I can hear you breathing
and I can feel your weight next to me
I awake to the sound of my lonely heart beating
With only a memory
of the way we used to be

Push back the seconds
rewind the years
lets refind the laughter
erase the tears
Take me back to used to be
take me back to you and me

And time she plays that never ending game
seconds explode and fade away
Yet the pain burns deep its gentle flame
I miss you more each day

WOW! A new favorite of mine, Britt. These lines will always especially haunt me: I awake to the sound of my lonely heart beating With only a memory of the way we used to be
