I find this very beautiful and comforting for some reason. My first inclination is to see this "money tree" in its ridiculously small state 'weeping' for the mere 'pennies' she can probably only produce at her size. But my second inclination is to think of the symbolic meaning of the bonsai...is it not "the art of making small trees look big, not big trees look small"? And in this light the bonsai is not merely a 'stunted growth' but a symbol of wealth in what 'appears' to be the poverty of a small pot...the bonsai, when grown properly, is grand in its tiny existence. Perhaps it weeps at the irony of being taken for granted despite its richness of presence...hahaha well Jadi, this one got me thinking a lot obviously. If nothing else at least you've given these dull gears a bit of oil ;-)
