Trying on suits and masks is what we like to do when we feel unsatisfied with what we percieve to be our 'true self'...in this case the "angel suit" does not fit properly and instead of forcing it, the speaker has the wisdom to accept his colorful clown essence still facing him in the mirror beneath this newly chosen suit. In a way, this angel suit has freed the person, helped them grow, grounded them so to speak...well this is how I took it. These one liners of yours are just spectacular! :-)
