Triste by Julie Adams
tree of tears
your sap leaves me gasping for words
your leaves ruffled,
mumbling amongst themselves
limbs reach to hug the bleeding bark
experiences fossilize in the circles of your trunk
go, tell stories to the birds,
sunlight will dance
between your leaves
once again,
lush you will ever grow
aside the waters of love

Posted by Glenn Currier on 10/20/02 at 04:57 AM Oh Gees, Jewels! This is gorgeous. The description is alive and green. The words dance, draping themselves, leaves tickling, over me. What you have done with a journal. From my own journal springs some of my favorite poems, and a few that are just fun. Good work, my dear. Keep on jeweling! |
