(962)S Listening (Incomplete)

by Omi Salavea

Listening,

to your hearbeat somewhere off in the distance of this world,
the shallow, tear-burdened breaths of my lungs
Im wondering where i am, im wondering where your heart is...
You didnt let me know if things were okay, so how can you be upset
when i tell you Im scared of the way things have been.
And this half empty bottle's been driving all night,
Vodka's talking to me, telling me to turn up the radio,
and get the hell out of here...
But this quiet hearts ready to pull over,
Scream your name to the stars and the drunks driving by
A funny sight the sadness inside my head,
but thats the funny thing about love, yes it is.
Driven by miles, driven by fear,
of losing the love, the heart i hold dear.

Very effective movement of the heart easily transferred to this reader. Congrats on being POTD!

This unique verse is both elusive and provocative Omi. Congratulations on becoming Poet Of The Day. Peace...
