Madness

by Rommel Cruz

What magic have you laid upon me
That I cannot help myself
But think of you
With each passing of the moment?

Why is it
That all I see is your sweet face
Always gentle, always smiling, always pure?

Why is it
That all I can hear
Is your voice
Filling my emptiness with absolute joy?

Why is it
That every single time you come near me
All I want to do is touch you,
Feel your delicate face on my hand,
Run my fingers thru your fragrant, silky hair
Glide my fingers against your soft, fair skin.

Why is it
That I long for your embrace
To feel your body against mine
And give me warmth in the cold sleepless nights?

Why is it
That I cease to exist without you
And yet, with just a whisper of your presence
I am again whole, alive, breathing?

What madness is this
That I dream, and long
For someone I cannot and will not have?

Wonderful. Your words evoke such strong feelings of need and want.

Amazing. Excellently written and conveying an especially vivid feel of that yearning.
