Roaring Lambs

by Melissa Arel

Its been a while since I set foot upon this sodden ground
And I see that I'm by myself as I'm looking all around
I don't know the reason why You brought me here
As I walk down this pathway through the valley of fear

I'm not who I was when I took my first step
But I'm clinging to the promise that You're not through with me yet
So if all of these trials bring me closer to You
Then I will walk through the fire if You want me to

As I look up ahead to these travels unknown
Fallen to the wayside is a horizon of bones
I never would've chosen this if it were up to me
But You never did say that this path would be easy

So I'll continue to press forward, forcing myself
When I can't hear You answer my cries for help
And when my journey has ended and You lead me Home
I'll know, because of You, I was never alone.
