I'm sorry

by Rommel Cruz

I'm sorry, could you forgive me
If I told you of this game that I've been playing
A game of lie, dishonesty and deceit
Of shattered promises and cruel mischief
That has left you fragile in its mockery

I'm sorry, could you believe in me
When I say that I did it all for you
Because I thought my lies could make you happy
Giving something you want to relieve your misery
But instead, I painted a picture full of treachery

I'm sorry, I know I've hurt you
Caused you agonizing pain and distress
I know no matter what I do, you may never forgive me
But please, hear my heart as it screams for forgiveness
Feel my heart beat as it spells your name.

I've cried this apology once. It was awful, but needed to be done.
