he stares at you through the frame
you peer back, noticing his face
you notice something that's just off
but it's something you cant place
you think you have it figured out
but slowly, you realize
that what you think you see is gone
and blankness fills your eyes.
you turn away from this page
the picture trapped in your mind
you try to look elswhere with your gaze
but you look back for what you could not find.
frustrated, i see you click through other things
poems with more potent words
but the image of this boy still rings
your obsession becomes absurd
what can it be?
what is so not right?
what cant you see?
and then, on goes a light.
the thing you find that's wrong
is staring at you now
and has been all along
you must have missed it, somehow.
one side is red
one side blue.
neither is correct.
