Tree

by Charles E Minshall

______________________________

How sad it would be
To be a tree,
To be rooted in place
With a dog set to pee.

To have birds constantly
Mess in your hair,
Life for a tree
Is just not fair.

Obnoxious chain saws
And pruning shears,
I bet if it could
A tree would shed tears.

I love trees, and this makes me sad...trees are strong, they'll get along...
