this american dream

by Andrew S Adams

wake up and smell the blood
the blood that taints that pride
that american dream of yours.
dimly lit, you can not find your way
in a little bit
you will hear what they say:
"...Disposable persons
american citizens
and all others enslaved to us
destroy the enemy."
you fight with your words
you fight with your guns
you fight with your technology
you fight for the rights to funds
you fight with your own muscle
now a wholly owned subsidiary
of american slavery incorporated.
look down at yourself
locked up in chains
do you notice the blood?
oh, how it stains...
too bad for you
you can never wash yourself clean
of what they make you do
of this american dream.
