The lonely flag is lost
between a fat-browned pit grill
and a 30 to 60 percent-off gift shop.
Its thirteen colonies are stripped asunder,
but even in its translucent tiredness
it waves freely
at the mini-vanned tourists
with free tickets
headed for the Magic Kingdom
or a free breakfast.
