I Am Home

by Melissa Arel

I am home
watching you as you sleep.

I have found my Solitude resting
on your eyelashes;
Your lip quivering from the slight touch
of my finger.

All of Life's mysteries are answered
in the whisper
of your rhythmic breathing.

Beauty descends upon your eyebrows
while your dreams live themselves out
in the Subconscious's grandest play
ever written or directed.

For who can compare to
the softness of your hair or
the scent of your skin?

I am home when I am with you.

The gentle aching in my heart has found
resolution and completion
in your Love.

A wonderful expression of mother-love! The picture compliments it beautifully!

Wow this such a tender poem. Very nicely done. I like the lip quivering part. Intimacy i can relate to.
