...And The Willows Whisper On by Jersey D GibsonAnd the night has begun a-new,
this young woman, she's going through.
She's dealing with a life-long crisis,
asking, Why God? Should I suffer this?
A new life she will give birth,
but alone will she know the worth.
She wishes for things to be the same,
but this thinking comes in vain.
-But the night will so turn to dawn,
and so will the will to carry on.
Even though innocense is gone,
the willows still whisper on.-
She remembers screaming in pain and joy,
now she wonders is it a girl or boy.
She holds herself for personal security,
thinking about the man who took her virginity.
When the father heard, he ran away,
even though the baby, it's here to stay.
Even though she is tattered and stained,
the memory, it will still remain.
-But the pain, it can not last,
for this too, it shall pass.
Everyone will have their sad song,
but the willows whisper on.-

Author's Note: This 'song' came to me in the 9th grade, when I was in a 'band' (a joke, I assure you) but this was in my head for the better part of my high school career, since this was about one of my friends, whom I have never forgotten. Weeping willows were her favorite tree, and she was particularly skilled in drawing them, thus the name of the song.
