Love Letter To My Saviour

by Melissa Arel

As my thoughts echo Your Word,
I hear Your timeless voice
Throughout the confines of my mind.
Your dew-spoken words drip
Like myrrh from my mouth
And float on the wind's whisper.
You reach down from Your heavenly throne
And touch my heart with a single fingertip.
You adorn me with love and peace and grace,
And You glorify Your name.

I dance before You with my whole body,
My whole being, my heart and soul.
I hear the tambourines' music
The trumpets' sound, the angels' singing,
The cherubs' wings flapping
As a single feather falls to the earth.
Your presence fills this place like a mist
And as I breathe in Your sweet aroma
Like burning incense,
I feel Your warm breath send chills down my spine.

Captured like a forbidden love,
But engrossing like a true love's passion.
As my heart echoes Your Word
You pull me closer and closer
As I draw nearer to You.
You clasp my hands between Yours
And interlock our fingers so close and tight.
You speak of Your love for me
And each syllable wraps itself around my soul.

I know all You say is true
For I feel it in my bones,
I feel it in my blood.
Your eyes of fire singe me
As I search beyond Your gaze
For what lies deeper.
I release my flesh into Your hands.
Slowly I kneel before You;
Refine me, Oh God.

I bow before you, I bow down and kiss the Son.
My tears washing and flowing freely
Over the golden-footed perfection.
You bend down and lift up my chin
Push the stray strands of hair from my face,
And smile.
Your eyes burn deep into my soul.
All questions are answered
In Your unquestionable love

You speak to me one single sentence,
It captures me.
'Let it be known that I have been faithful'.

You're all I need as my prayers and praises
Ascend to the heavenlies.
You are faithful, Lord.
My restless heart has finally found rest in You.

Beautiful analogy of life in the Spirit. Line: "Descends into the heavenlies" should read, "Ascends into... ."

Hmmm..for some critics who mock your beliefs, Mel they sure seem hellbent (pardon the pun) on making sure you hear some of theirs...i'm not the godliest person alive, but if it comes down to listening to people who can write beautiful tributes to their saviors or the petty rants of the froth-filled narcissists and self-proclaimed self-important, well my choice is pretty clear... and already made :)

I have no doubt angels have engraved this letter on the finest parchment heaven has at His request and He holds it near to His heart. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I am printing a copy to hang in my bedroom to read when I'm feeling down and one to put in my bible. It will make an awesome bookmark. My boyfriend, Chip, showed it to me and he was just as touched if not more than I. To quote what he said in his email about it "But this one is new to me and ohhh, so beautiful. The third stanza really gets me. Love the second one and the last line. It's one I'll read over and over". Thank you from both of us.
