Tracks of Love by Rosie J BuhrmesterIn Memory of Our "Special Boy"
Woody 09/06/91 - 03/25/02
To Daddy you were "my special friend",
To me "Mommy's little boy".
We both were blessed by one small dog
Who brought years of endless joy.
Since the day we brought you home
With your little puppy ways,
You gave us love and loyalty
Through each and every day.
You were always there to greet us
When you'd bark as if to say,
"I'm so very glad that you've come home."
"Now come on, it's time to play!"
You were a neighborhood celebrity,
Everyone knew your name;
The children often came and asked,
"Can Woody come out today?"
You always did the cutest things,
A show-off through and through;
You did your best to make us laugh,
With everyone watching you!
You showed how very smart you were
With every trick you learned;
You knew we were so proud of you
With every treat you earned.
You gave your sweet affection
With a "kiss" upon my nose;
And together we had snuggle times
While in "your" chair we dozed.
Now the house is quiet,
Your toys and bed are gone;
But beyond our tears of sadness
Happy memories will live on.
If dogs do go to Heaven,
How I want to believe they do;
I know that Heaven's where you are,
God has a place for you.
Time will erase the tracks of tears
Of the pain when we had to part;
But time won't erase the tracks of love
You left within our hearts.

| Posted by Joan Serratelli on 03/29/10 at 06:59 PM I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is akin to losing a family member.Alot of people think that pets are disposibe. Woody is in G-d's hands now. Again, sorry for your loss and thanks for sharing. |
