Coincidence

by JD Clay

Often sowed rarely reaped
Angelic seeds reside
in those seeking inner truth
when love and peace collide

We've come to know the realm
of life being born of man
but rest assured our future
includes a master plan

By our own coincidence
not always clear to see
Nature's course lights the way
controlling destiny

While choosing a direction
all cultures do impart
be conscious of the spirit
be guided by your heart

your poem has a wonderful rhythm to it and reminds me of something out of Omar Khayam

"Coincidence:" here is a much larger thing than chance, Many dictionary definitions as well as the word roots indicate very interesting, powerful meanings. (The fact of random association, given right circumatances, time and place, chemistry, and all is deep in itself) But "1. The state or fact of occupying the same relative position or area in space" that's definition one. And I like especially as a synonym "unison - occurring together or simultaneously; as in "the two spoke in unison" So given the depth of the title...what doi we find? In the first stanza... already a surprise! Why "rarely reaped"? (Angelic seeds are sowed in those seeking inner truth") Because it takes just the right conditions for growth and flowering. "love and peace collide" being the best. A seeker with great distractiona may have love and not be able to achieve peace. Many conditions work against fruition. The second stanza is the "realm" we know, are accustomed to--the poet asks us to "rest" in the assurance that there is more. In the third stanza "coincidence" again is the key: "the temporal property of two things happening at the same time" --this is our presence in the world and being given opportunity to love and grow in good conditions, Finally we are lured to the conclusion- (age old, in all cultures) -- "be conscious of the spirit be guided by your heart"... the coincidence of these two--as guiding lights... an enormous boon to our existence.

What a grand adventure. Known intimately from our cellular beginnings the Spirit seeks to bring to our attention in this thought of angelic resident multiplication... Wonderful, thought provoking poem.
