Crying Soul

by Anne Engelen

My soul is crying out to me
Get out there
and find what's there to see

I know I want some changes
but this
completely rearranges
life as it 's known to me

Deep down I can feel it
I need to move on
Although the price to pay
for a happy soul
is extremely high

But then again, it's worth it
if it can stop her cry

Debating this duality
between my mind and my heart
is very much confusing me
Patience will be the key
and time will point out to me
when I am ready to set her free

Lady Anne, can I simply say, I love this poem? It is so wonderfully you. So wonderfully composed. So wonderfully curious to come to some understanding of Life and what is poetry for, but the vehicle to come to such understanding?
