I Leave, Only To Remain by Melissa Arela separate journey has beckoned me to come
and i will follow, looking back at you as you turn away
not bearing to watch me leave
though you will mourn my passage, i will not be very far
the parting of our kindred spirits
hurts more than the stinging darts embedded within them
for neither time nor place could comfort that ache
or soothe the after-effects of misplaced love
yes, you have been my mentor and my muse
and those memories will be pressed between pages
til my troubadouring heart finds its way back to you
where we can rest among the lilies by the willow
i know in our proceeding lifetime, we will be together
so, when the next full moon arises over a thousand hills
look for three stars to the left and straight until morning
and there i will wait, steadfast in my love for you
there i will remain.
