Your Eyes

by David R Spellman

Has it only been this lifetime
I’ve been searching every shore
Or was it some past passion,
Reincarnated even more

Lost without your insight
Drowning in your gaze
Emptied, into your fullness
No blindness in your haze

Seeking my own fortune
Looking for your stare
Hoping I may find you
Wondering if you’re there

Longing for that moment
Our souls will intertwine
Your eyes will be the opening
My heart, no longer mine.

I just read about eyes by another poet. Took me back to this poem which is quite different in expression but with the same idea that the eyes are an avenue to the soul. Good read.

I voted on this and left no comment, well I did but it doesn't show now... How hopeful and yearning this is. How tender... the words comming from the heart to touch the hearts of your readers.

The eyes definitely have it! This is terrific!
