Damn Cat and Tea 2

by Mary Ellen Smith

Come in and have a cup of tea
And sit awhile and talk to me.
I know you just came to fix the sink.
But you have a minute...don't you think?

You've heard tell that I am bats?
Oh, sorry Dear, about my cats.
No, no, I have only one cat, Dear.
Want to meet him, I know he's near.

Step inside Sweetie, close the door.
Just set your tools there on the floor.
You look so nervous, Dear, I don't bite.
Tee Hee...but my hair must look a fright!

Yes, the sink does have a leak
But sit a spell then take a peak.
I'm always thrilled when friends stop by.
Well, of course I know you're the maintenance guy.

So tell me, one lump of sugar or two?
Perhaps a bit of milk would do.
I have some cookies baked fresh today.
I'll just go and fix a tray.

I can't hear you dear, I'll be right back.
No, my cat's not trained to attack.
Here we go, try one of these
And this carrot cake is sure to please.

Now where were we, yes, yes, I recall.
You met my cat out in the hall?
How many stitches did you get?
Oh tsk tsk, I'd forgotten you two had met.

What's that dear? Restrain the cat?
Oh, I'm afraid I can't do that.
He wouldn't like that, no, no.. not a bit.
Here now, drink your tea...Dear and sit.

Oh, look here comes that Damn Cat now.
My, my, don't be so jumpy, He just said "Meow".
And look he's smiling, what's that Dear?
No, its a smile, sweetie, cats can't sneer.

Now, now no need to get upset and frown.
Well, that's not friendly, put that hammer down.
Now see what you did Damn cat, do you see?
My guest ran away .....now give that hammer to me!
