poor boy on the side of the road
poor man sitting in jail
poor soul being told
that evil has prevailed
poor woman begging for her life
starving and needing some food
her family skin and bones
sitting in the street, cold and nude
poor girl sitting in her room
waiting for him to go away
she cant take this abuse
she cant live another day

how did they get here?
they started out like you or me
i guess life just twists and turns it's way
so what will be will be

as i look up now
without words to say
there they go again
another one slips away.
