Overcoming Soulful Pain --- ( Sonnet) by Audrey M Scott
Sighs whittle my patience to erosion
Doubt and Fear being partners in same bed
Give birth to child known as "Confusion";
With packed bag, happiness has quickly fled.
Hearken my heavy heart to words of wise
First, thyself seek out the log in mine eye,
Cast off this yoke and endeavour to rise
Escape the crippling heat in anothers lie.
Let the fruits of contentment settle in,
May a sigh be relief and not despair
With gift of calm again reigning within,
Though the rift would still need time to repair.
In new inner strength, I wait without cease
For time shared with you to be of increase.
